Kungs, born Valentin Brunel in Toulon, France, is a globally recognized DJ, producer, and songwriter who rose to prominence as one of the defining figures of the tropical house movement. Kungs began experimenting with DJing as a teenager, developing a keen ear for melody and rhythm that would later shape his signature sound: a blend of house, pop, and funk-infused electronic music designed for wide, feel-good appeal.

He broke through internationally in 2016 with his remix of Cookin' on 3 Burners’ track “This Girl,” which became a global smash hit. The song topped charts in multiple countries, including France, Germany, and the UK, and amassed billions of streams worldwide. Its infectious groove and summery vibe helped cement Kungs as a leading voice in a new wave of accessible electronic music, alongside contemporaries like Kygo and Lost Frequencies.

Following his breakout success, Kungs released his debut album Layers in 2016, showcasing collaborations with a range of international artists and highlighting his versatility as a producer. Over the next several years, he continued to evolve his sound, incorporating deeper house, disco, and funk influences.
