Kliff Kingsbury

Kliff Kingsbury's journey in football began as a player, notably as a quarterback for Texas Tech from 1999 to 2002. He led the NCAA in passing yards and touchdowns in 2002, a feat that cemented his name as a recipient of the Sammy Baugh Trophy and the AP National Offensive Player of the Year. His prowess on the field was also reflected in his academic pursuits, earning him the title of Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-American and Player of the Year. Kingsbury's time as a player culminated in a Super Bowl championship (XXXVIII) with the New England Patriots.

Transitioning from player to coach, Kingsbury began his coaching career in 2008. His first major role was as head coach of Texas Tech from 2013 to 2018, leading them to a Holiday Bowl victory in 2013. It was here where his ability to develop notable quarterbacks began to shine, with notable names such as Case Keenum and Johnny Manziel under his tutelage. His coaching career further flourished when he served as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022. Under his leadership, the Cardinals reached the playoffs in the 2021 season.

Despite the end of his tenure with the Cardinals, Kingsbury's coaching journey continued. He served as a senior offensive analyst for USC in 2023 before joining the Washington Commanders as their offensive coordinator from 2024 to 2025. His strategic offensive coaching contributed to the Commanders tying for the franchise's second most total points in a season in 2025. Kingsbury's diverse experience in both playing and coaching, spanning collegiate, professional, and international football, underscores his comprehensive understanding of the game.
