Kina Hart

Kina Hart is a nationally recognized motivational safety speaker and the founder of Hart 2 Heart Safety, an initiative focused on workplace safety education and employee empowerment. At age 20, Hart lost her left arm in a workplace accident at a fish processing plant when her hand became caught while cleaning a conveyor belt on her first day. She has since dedicated her career to promoting occupational safety and health across industries.

Hart began her professional journey as a science teacher in a public school. Her transition to keynote speaking started when a parent of one of her students invited her to share her story with his employees. After delivering a 15-minute version of her presentation, she was asked to speak at all 12 of the company’s locations. This experience led Hart to develop her signature 50-minute presentation and pursue a career in safety advocacy. Hart holds a bachelor's degree in education, which informs her approach to structuring keynotes with clear learning objectives. Her presentations are tailored for diverse audiences, including high-risk young workers and students, and emphasize effective safety training and communication.

Hart’s presentation, "It's Your Safety, Don't Give It Away," addresses the importance of safety procedures, training, and maintaining a positive attitude. She highlights the significance of intuition and psychological safety, encouraging employees to report hazards and stop work when necessary. Her workshops and keynotes focus on preventive strategies, risk assessment, emergency response, and building a culture of safety that extends from executives to new employees.

Hart has worked with Fortune 500 clients such as NASA, Boeing, and Exxon Mobil, and has presented to organizations in manufacturing, gas, oil, electric, healthcare, and education. Her experience includes working with corporate safety professionals, medical professionals, and high school students. In addition to her speaking career, Hart is a second-degree black belt, marathon runner, and Olympic Torch runner. She incorporates these achievements into her message, demonstrating that physical injuries do not define a person’s capabilities and supporting organizations in building resilient and recovery-focused safety programs.
