Kimi Antonelli, an Italian racing driver, has an impressive track record in various racing championships. His journey began in 2018 when he won the WSK Champions Cup, South Garda Winter Cup, and ROK Cup International Final in the Mini class. 2020 saw him named the FIA Karting Rookie of the Year. Antonelli's winning streak continued in 2022, where he claimed championships in both the Italian and ADAC F4 series. His talent soared in the Middle East, where he earned the Formula Regional European and Middle East Championships. He rounded off 2022 by winning a gold medal for Italy at the FIA Motorsport Games in the F4 Cup category.
Antonelli's career further accelerated in 2024 when he won two races in the FIA Formula 2 series and earned the sixth overall position. That same year, he was praised for his championship-winning campaign in the Formula Regional European Championship, where he was voted driver of the season by team principals. Antonelli's Formula One debut came in 2025 with Mercedes. His impressive performance led to him being the first Italian driver to compete in Formula One since Antonio Giovinazzi in 2021. Antonelli made history in 2026 by becoming the youngest polesitter in Formula One and the first Italian victor in two decades at the Chinese Grand Prix. Apart from his racing career, Antonelli co-founded the kart racing team AKM Motorsport by Kart Republic in 2023, where he serves as a driver coach and chassis tester.
Antonelli's talents also extend to the film industry, with a cameo role in the sports drama film "Italian Race" in 2016. His career story was captured in the short documentary film "The Seat" in 2025. He has received multiple awards, including the Confartigianato Motori Pilota in Ascesa award in 2024, the Autosprint Caschi d'Oro award in 2022, and the Automobile Club d'Italia Volante d'Oro award in 2022. With a promising career ahead, Antonelli continues to make his mark in the Formula One World Drivers' Championship and is currently leading the 2026 season with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team.
