Kim continues to receive critical acclaim as an actress in comedy and drama, on stage or on television. She has toured with the hit play "Vagina Monologues” and in 2003 received extraordinary reviews in "Pandora & Trunk,” the one-woman show in which she starred, as well as Neil Simon‘s "Barefoot In The Park,” which she also served as Executive Producer.
Her life and career has been the subject of an A&E Biography as well as a Lifetime Intimate Portrait. Away from the cameras, Kim the Poet and Spoken Word artist performs globally at jazz festivals and spoken word lounges under the name "Blondielocks.” "Blondielocks" has been in effect at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, The Tom Joyner Cruise and the Essence Music Festival to name a few. She was arrested in the Riverside, CA. protest/march against police brutality, has campaigned in several political campaigns including those Jesse Jackson, Sen. Cleo Fields and congresswoman Maxine Waters. She has provided the keynote address for several national organizations and events. Ever since Kim saw her Mom Chip perform with Pearl Bailey in "Hello Dolly” (which served as Kim‘s introduction to the theater and to acting), theater has long been a passion for Kim. At age 7, Fields and her mother moved to LA from Harlem. Kim became an immediate sensation in television and commercials, starting with the famous "Mrs. Butterworth” syrup commercial. Such exposures lead to a co-starring role on the sitcom "Baby I’m Back,” followed by numerous commercials and guest-starring roles. In 1979, Kim landed the role that would place her in worldwide celebrity and lead her to icon status: "The Facts of Life.” The sitcom had an amazing and successful nine-year run on NBC. The beloved series continues to run in syndication all over the world.
Needless to say, Kim has hit the ground running, to get the next 30 years of her multi-faceted career off to a flying start, giving God thanks for her many blessings every step of the way. Recently, GMC inked a ‘First-Look‘ Deal with Kim (Enloe Entertainment). Under terms of the agreement, Enloe will submit projects to GMC on a first-look basis for possible airing on the network. Potential projects include scripted series, documentaries, made-for movies and reality shows. Fields will be connected to all projects either as talent, director and/or producer.
In keeping with the drive, passion and determination that Kim personifies, she displayed her role as host for the 2nd season of BET‘s/Johnson & Johnson‘s "Lens on Talent,” presented at the "Soul Train Awards,” appeared on "The Monique Show,” and executive produced and directed her first-ever Christmas TV special entitled, "Holiday Love” with a full cast of Gospel and R&B celebrity talent. In the past few years, Kim has been featured in the GMC TV Movie entitled, "A Cross to Bear”, the Box Office Feature Film "What to Expect When You‘re Expecting,” based on the bestselling book, also hit shows like “The Rickey Smiley Show” and “For Better or Worse”.
