
Kim Cattrall is a Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated actress. She is best known for her iconic role as Samantha Jones in the HBO comedy series "Sex and the City" and for her leading roles in the classic films "Police Academy" and "Mannequin."
Cattrall began her career after moving from Canada to New York City and signing a five-year movie deal with director Otto Preminger, making her film debut in Preminger's "Rosebud." She went on to make guest appearances in popular series "Charlie’s Angels" and "The Incredible Hulk." She later starred opposite Jack Lemmon in his Oscar-nominated movie "Tribute," in the comedy "Police Academy," and in the cult film "Mannequin."
In 1997, Cattrall led the iconic HBO series "Sex and the City." As Samantha Jones, she gained international recognition in addition to winning a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She also signed a publishing deal to write a book about sex with her husband, Mark Levinson. The two co-wrote the book "Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm." Cattrall continued to work in film, starring in "Baby Geniuses" and in Britney Spears' first film venture, "Crossroads." When "Sex and the City" ended its run, the show continued to dominate in ratings with an audience of 11M+ viewers.
By popular demand, Cattrall revived her character in the movies "Sex and The City" and "Sex and The City 2." The films garnered international, record-breaking success, and she received a People's Choice Award nomination for her performance. She also appeared in the Disney picture "Ice Princess" and in the West End drama revival of "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" She starred with Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Tom Wilkinson, and James Belushi in "The Ghost Writer." She has also starred in the mini-series "The Witness for the Prosecution" and the Freemantle TV series "Modus." Cattrall also took on lead and executive producer roles in "Sensitive Skin," an HBO Canada & Netflix TV series about an attractive woman going through a midlife crisis that was nominated for an international Emmy. She also starred in the CBS psychological thriller "Tell Me a Story" with Carrie-Anne Moss and Odette Annable.
More recently, Cattrall starred in the Hulu sitcom "How I Met Your Father," a spinoff of the widely popular "How I Met Your Mother"; joined Peacock’s "Queer As Folk"; starred as a makeup mogul in Netflix’s drama series "Glamorous"; and filmed the Lionsgate comedy "About My Father" inspired by the life of stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. Furthermore, Cattrall recorded her lead role in the highly anticipated ten-part BBC audio drama series, "Central Intelligence."
