Kierra Sheard Biography
Kierra Sheard-Kelly is a gospel singer, songwriter and evangelist whose work bridges a storied musical legacy and a contemporary gospel sound. The daughter of Karen Clark Sheard of the Clark Sisters and the granddaughter of renowned choral director Mattie Moss Clark, she began recording at age 9 and released her debut album, “I Owe You,” in 2004.
In 2020, Sheard starred as her mother in Lifetime’s biographical film “The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel,” which became the network’s highest-rated original movie in four years. That same year, she released her sixth studio album, “Kierra,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart and produced several Hot Gospel Songs hits, including “Something Has to Break.”
In addition to her music career, Sheard is a licensed evangelist in the Church of God in Christ, having begun preaching in 2013. A graduate of Wayne State University, she is also the founder of the fashion line Eleven60, which she launched in honor of her mother.
