Kevin James

Kevin James is an actor and comedian recognized for his role as Doug Heffernan on the CBS sitcom "The King of Queens." He also starred in the sitcom "Kevin Can Wait." James' performance in "The King of Queens" earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

"The King of Queens" aired for nine seasons on CBS, with James serving as both star and executive producer. The show maintains popularity in syndication internationally. James began his career in stand-up comedy on the Long Island comedy circuit before transitioning to television after being discovered at the Montreal Comedy Festival, where he signed a network development deal.

James made his film debut in "Hitch," appearing alongside Will Smith. He has appeared in films such as "50 First Dates," "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry," "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," "Grown Ups," and "Zookeeper." His filmography also includes roles in the thriller "Becky" and the biographical film "Home Team," in which he portrayed NFL head coach Sean Payton.

In addition to live-action roles, James has contributed voice work to animated films including "Monster House," "Barnyard," and the "Hotel Transylvania" franchise. He starred in the 2026 romantic comedy “Solo Mio,” portraying Matt Taylor, a man left at the altar who embarks on a solo honeymoon in Italy and discovers unexpected love and personal growth.

James has received nominations for awards including the Teen Choice Awards, Golden Raspberry Awards, and People's Choice Awards. He hosted the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and served as grand marshal for the Pepsi 400, promoting his films.

Beyond acting, James produced and starred in the web series Dusty Peacock and has featured short films on his YouTube channel. He is a practicing Catholic.
