Kent Lewis

Kent Lewis is a digital marketing entrepreneur and community builder with a career spanning nearly three decades and more than 10 agencies. With a background in integrated marketing, Lewis began his digital marketing career in the mid-1990s, building and managing his first search engine marketing team at a full-service marketing agency before co-founding agencies Wave Rock and emailROI. He served as president and founder of Anvil Media for 22 years before selling the agency. Under his leadership, Anvil earned recognition from Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest-growing private companies, Oregon Business Magazine's 100 Best Places to Work, and Portland Business Journal's Corporate Philanthropy Award and Oregon's Most Admired Companies designation. Lewis is managing partner at Anvil Unlimited, a business consultancy specializing in growth marketing strategies through digital channels, serving as a fractional chief marketing officer and strategic advisor with experience across 10 agencies and 1,200 clients.

Lewis founded pdxMindShare, building it into a community that connects professionals in Portland, Oregon, for career education, networking, and employment opportunities. The community focuses on providing quality networking experiences for those interested in advancing their personal and professional careers. pdxMindShare has grown to more than 12,000 LinkedIn Group members and has received recognition, including a mention on Seth Godin's blog. Lewis emphasizes quality over quantity in networking, targeting events of 30 to 50 attendees to foster meaningful connections.

Lewis co-founded SEMpdx, a trade organization for search engine marketing professionals, and has served as an adjunct professor at Portland State University, teaching search engine marketing workshops. He has also been a volunteer instructor for SCORE. Lewis joined the Portland chapter of Entrepreneurs' Organization, serving as membership chair and earning Membership Chair of the Year from EO Global. He has volunteered with SMART Reading, creating and hosting the SMART Gala fundraiser, which raised more than $65,000 for the nonprofit, and served on the SMART board for 10 years.

Lewis has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40, Marketer of the Year by AMA Oregon, and a Top 100 Digital Marketing Influencer by BuzzSumo. Early in his career, he spoke to professors about the Internet's impact on marketing communications and has since presented to audiences more than 700 times on topics including digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and employee engagement. He has focused his expertise on employee and customer experience as well as artificial intelligence, and is a frequent speaker at conferences and trade association events such as NATDA Trailer Show, InnoTech, SMASH, and the Digital Summit series. Lewis writes for industry publications including Inc. and SmartBrief and is regularly quoted in the media.
