Ken Morrow

Ken Morrow, a former professional ice hockey defenseman, has notched up several noteworthy accomplishments in his career. A significant part of his professional journey was his contribution to the 1980 USA Olympic "Miracle on Ice" hockey team, which culminated in him becoming the first player to win both an Olympic Gold and an NHL championship in the same season. Morrow's ice hockey prowess was further showcased by his integral role in securing four consecutive Stanley Cup championships for the New York Islanders between 1980 and 1983. His time on the ice was marked by 550 regular-season games in the National Hockey League, spanning from 1980 to 1989.

As a testament to his exceptional skills and contributions to the sport of ice hockey, Morrow was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995. Sixteen years later, in 2011, he was further honored by being inducted into the New York Islanders Hall of Fame. Alongside his achievements within the sport, Morrow's influence extended to popular media, with his portrayal in the 2004 Walt Disney Studios film "Miracle" by actor Casey Burnette. In 2025, he authored "Ken Morrow: Miracle Gold, Four Stanley Cups, and a Lifetime of Islanders Hockey." The following year, he was featured in the Netflix documentary "Miracle: The Boys of 80."

Currently, Morrow serves as the New York Islanders' director of pro scouting while also heading KCIce, an Outdoor Ice Rink Development and Management company based in Kansas City, MO. His collegiate years at Bowling Green State University were marked by significant recognition, including being named the CCHA Player of the Year for 1978-79 and being a part of the CCHA First Team multiple times.
