Kelsie Whitmore Biography
Kelsie Whitmore is an professional baseball player, pitcher, and trailblazer who has broken significant barriers for women in baseball. A member of the U.S. Women's National Baseball Team since 2014, she won a silver medal at the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup and a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. She was selected first overall in the inaugural Women's Pro Baseball League draft in 2025.
Whitmore played softball at Cal State Fullerton, while continuing to pursue her dream of playing professional baseball. She became the first woman to play in an MLB partner league when she joined the Staten Island FerryHawks in 2022 and later became the first woman to start a Pioneer League game with the Oakland Ballers.
In 2025, Whitmore joined the Savannah Bananas, becoming part of the organization's rapidly growing Banana Ball phenomenon. She became the first woman to record a strikeout in Banana Ball history, pitching at eight MLB stadiums during the 2025 season, including San Diego's Petco Park, where she grew up dreaming of playing. She returned to the Bananas for the 2026 season and remains a prominent figure in their effort to expand opportunities for women in baseball.
