Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini is an American country-pop singer and songwriter known for her contributions to modern country music. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Ballerini began writing songs at age 13 and learned guitar before moving to Nashville at 15 to pursue a career in music. By 19, she signed with Black River Entertainment, initially for a publishing deal and later for a recording contract. She was named one of CMT's Next Women of Country.

Ballerini's debut album, "The First Time," produced three consecutive No. 1 singles on the Country Airplay chart, making her the only female country artist to achieve this with a debut album. Her debut single, "Love Me Like You Mean It," reached No. 1, making her the first female artist since Carrie Underwood to send a debut single to the top of that chart. This accomplishment led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. She followed with the albums "Unapologetically," "Kelsea," and its acoustic companion "Ballerini," as well as "Subject to Change." Her collaboration with Kenny Chesney, "Half of My Hometown," earned two Country Music Association Awards. Ballerini has achieved multiple Top 10 entries on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, with several albums reaching gold and platinum status.

Her EP, "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat," showcased a more personal and introspective side, accompanied by a short film she wrote and directed. The project received critical acclaim from outlets such as The New York Times, Variety, and Rolling Stone, and led to her appearance on the cover of TIME Magazine. Her fifth studio album, "Patterns," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums. The album features a collaboration with Noah Kahan on the single "Cowboys Cry Too," which received Grammy and CMA Awards nominations.

In addition to her recording career, Ballerini became the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry at age 25, with Carrie Underwood overseeing her induction. She has hosted the CMT Music Awards multiple times, both alongside Kane Brown and solo. Ballerini has also served as a Coach on NBC's "The Voice" and made her acting debut with a guest appearance on the TV medical drama "Doctor Odyssey."

Ballerini's influence extends into publishing and media. She authored the poetry book "Feel Your Way Through" and narrated the audiobook for Dolly Parton's "Run, Rose, Run."
