Kealia Watt

Kealia Ohai Watt is a former professional soccer player known for her speed, finishing ability, and leadership in the National Women's Soccer League. Before her professional career, Watt earned recognition as a high school athlete and joined the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, where she led the team with 14 goals in her freshman season and earned First-Team All-ACC and ACC All-Freshman Team honors. Her college career included a national championship, and she was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player after scoring decisive goals in both the semifinal and final.

Internationally, Watt scored the winning goal in the final of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup against Germany. She represented the United States at multiple national team levels, including the senior USWNT, where she set a record by scoring 48 seconds into her debut. Selected as the second overall pick in the NWSL College Draft, she became the Houston Dash's first college draft selection.

During her professional career with the Houston Dash, Watt served as club captain and recorded a scoring streak of 11 goals in 10 games, earning NWSL Player of the Week honors twice and a spot on the NWSL Best XI. Over six seasons with the Dash, she made 114 appearances and scored 28 goals. Her career included overcoming a Grade 3 ACL sprain and medial meniscus tear. After a trade to the Chicago Red Stars, she contributed to the team's run to the NWSL Championship game before retiring from professional play.

Following her playing career, Watt transitioned to broadcasting as a sideline analyst and contributor for Amazon Prime Video's NWSL coverage. She also became a minority investor in English football club Burnley FC, advising the club's women's team. Watt's career reflects a commitment to women's soccer, sports broadcasting, and investment in the growth of the game.
