Katie Keith

Katie Keith is a scholar and director of the Health Policy and the Law Initiative at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Her work focuses on health policy, with an emphasis on the Affordable Care Act and its effects on underserved populations, including the LGBTQ community. Keith also serves as an associate research professor at Georgetown University’s Center on Health Insurance Reforms and provides "Following the ACA" rapid response analysis for Health Affairs, where she is a contributing editor.

Keith is a co-founder and steering committee member of Out2Enroll, a national initiative connecting LGBTQ individuals with health insurance, and serves as an appointed consumer representative to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. She previously served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana and managed an AmeriCorps program in Nevada. Keith earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and holds a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins University.

Keith is recognized for her expertise in health policy and frequently speaks at national conferences and events on the Affordable Care Act and health equity. Her analysis on health insurance reform is regularly cited by policy organizations and media outlets.
