Katie Dippold

Katie Dippold is a screenwriter, producer, and comedian known for her work in film and television comedy. After graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism, Dippold began her career in improvisational comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, developing skills that would influence her later screenwriting. She appeared as a sketch regular on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and was a cast member on the MTV prank series "Boiling Points" before transitioning to writing for television, joining the staff of "MADtv" and "The Big Gay Sketch Show."

Dippold joined the writing staff of NBC's "Parks and Recreation," where she worked for several seasons and earned two consecutive Writers Guild of America Award nominations. Her feature film debut, "The Heat," a buddy-cop comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, achieved commercial success and established her as a writer of character-driven comedy. Dippold went on to co-write the "Ghostbusters" reboot, as well as "Snatched" and Disney's "Haunted Mansion," contributing to a portfolio that includes action-comedy and supernatural comedy.

Dippold created, wrote, and served as showrunner for "Widow's Bay," a horror-comedy series for Apple TV+. The series, set on a mysteriously cursed New England island, received positive reception and was renewed for a second season. Collaborating with director Hiro Murai, Dippold oversaw the creative process, including writing, casting, score, and editing, marking her transition from feature screenwriter to showrunner with creative oversight.
