Newton began her career at age 4, making her television debut on the soap opera "All My Children." She received recognition early on, winning two Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series and Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) for "Gary Unmarried." She later took on the lead role of Alex in the film "Paranormal Activity 4," earning an award at the Young Artist Awards for her performance.
