Kaskade

Ryan Gary Raddon, known professionally as Kaskade, is an American DJ, songwriter, music producer, and remixer recognized for his contributions to electronic dance music. Raddon began his career in the underground house music scenes of Salt Lake City and San Francisco before gaining international recognition. He initially sold his music to John Elkins, A&R director for Om Records, later joining the label and supporting the development of other artists. During this period, he adopted the stage name Kaskade, inspired by a nature book illustration of a waterfall.

Kaskade's discography includes numerous studio albums and singles that have contributed to the evolution of house and electronic music. His debut album, "It's You, It's Me," introduced his signature house-inflected sound. "Strobelight Seduction," featuring production by Deadmau5, achieved significant commercial success, highlighted by the single "Move for Me." The album "Dynasty" marked his first appearance on the Billboard 200, while the double album "Fire & Ice" debuted in the Billboard Top 20. Kaskade has received multiple Grammy nominations, including for the song "Atmosphere" and the album "Atmosphere" in the Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album categories, respectively. Over his career, he has released twelve studio albums and earned seven Grammy nominations.

Kaskade's live performances have set records in the entertainment industry. He was the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out Navy Pier in Chicago and Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the first DJ to secure a Las Vegas residency, influencing the city's entertainment landscape. He has headlined major music festivals, including Coachella, where he drew some of the largest crowds in the festival's history. His performance at LA Memorial Coliseum with Kx5 set a record for the largest single-day concert headlined by an electronic music artist in North America, as reported by Billboard. Kaskade also became the first in-game DJ at the Super Bowl, reaching a television audience of over 123 million viewers.

Kaskade and Deadmau5 formed the collaborative project Kx5, releasing the single "Escape," which reached the Top 40 and became the No. 1 Dance Single on Mediabase charts. Their self-titled album as Kx5 further demonstrated Kaskade's influence in electronic music. He received the Best Male Artist of the Year honor at the iHeartRadio EDM Awards, while Kx5 was recognized as Best New Group. Kaskade also became the first starting grid DJ at a Formula 1 race in Miami.

Kaskade has been recognized by DJ Times as "America's Best DJ" and by Forbes as one of the highest-paid DJs globally. He has collaborated with artists such as Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor, showcasing his ability to blend his electronic sound across genres. Kaskade is credited with helping to bring electronic dance music into the mainstream in the United States, and his impact on the global EDM scene continues to be significant.
