Kasey Van Norman

Kasey Van Norman has been a licensed counselor for 20 years. She has seen the healing restoration available when God’s truth and vulnerability collide. She is passionate about creating intentional opportunities for those who are hurting to receive a personal and whole approach to their health.

Van Norman received her BA in Psychology, MA in Clinical Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Clinical Trauma Specialist, National Board Certified Counselor, and Certified Personal Trainer.

Van Norman & her family have served 15 years in the non-profit sector, 10 of those in the Brazos Valley. She currently oversees the day to day affairs of “The House” as Executive Director. Van Norman is a 3x bestselling author and cancer survivor. She is a wife to Justin of 22 years and mother of two.

Van Norman has over 20 years experience as a mental health therapist, and has traveled the country encouraging others with God's Word for over a decade. She loves connecting with women through retreats and events and is a plenary speaker for the Extraordinary Women Conferences and American Association of Christian Counselors.

In 2012, after receiving a stage IV cancer diagnosis of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Van Norman set her heart to study and understand the underlying factors of disease and poor quality of life as they related to unprocessed trauma and environment. After years of rigorous chemotherapy and feeling like “just a number” in clinical settings, the Van Normans knew there had to be a better solution. They realized what they needed most in their darkest days of doubt, loneliness, and frustration was a community working together under the banner of preventative, restorative care. Not in a hospital or clinic, but in a home. Through the realized dream of Made Well House, the Van Normans have committed their life’s work to create a beacon of hope & healing for the Brazos Valley community.

A licensed counselor and trauma specialist for 20 years, Van Norman spent a decade researching the benefits of a whole-person approach to health. The Van Normans’ time spent serving in the nonprofit sector of Bryan-College Station was specifically beneficial. It allowed them access to learning about larger, target populations experiencing poor physical, mental, relational, and spiritual health. To their surprise, the common denominator for low quality of life did not arise from a person’s lack of income, poor decisions, or past trauma, but instead, from a sudden loss of family or friendships; a reality Van Norman personally experienced a year before receiving her cancer diagnosis.
