Kara Stevens is the Founder of The Frugal Feminista, which is based in New York City. The company is focuses on personal finance and development that helps women live life on their own terms. After realizing the relationship between personal power and financial freedom, Stevens came up with the goal to lead a “frugal feminista” revolution and change the conversation about money between women with their family and partners.
She is the author of The Frugal Feminista: Unmasking The Strong Black Woman and heal your relationship with money. Her ideas have been featured in Yahoo Finance, Women’s Day, Nerd Wallet, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post.
Stevens is a graduate of Oberlin College. She also has an MSEd in Bilingual Education from CUNY’s Hunter College and an EdM in Organizational Leadership from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
