Kap Slap

Jared Lucas, known professionally as Kap Slap, is a DJ and electronic dance music producer recognized for his contributions to the EDM mashup genre. Lucas began his music career while studying Integrated Business and Engineering at Lehigh University, where he developed skills in guitar, bass, and drums before focusing on digital music production. His early bootlegs and mashups of EDM and Top 40 tracks gained traction beyond his college campus, leading to his first DJ performances and a 25-show tour as a student, during which he mastered Ableton Live.

Lucas built a national following by performing at universities and clubs across the United States, earning recognition for his energetic mashups that blend electronic dance music with pop and Motown influences. Within the first two years of his career, he performed at more than 200 independent shows, and his mashups frequently topped the Hype Machine Charts. Lucas signed with Sony Publishing, establishing his presence in the music industry.

Transitioning from mashups to original music production, Lucas released singles including "Let It All Out" featuring Angelika Vee, which reached No. 17 on the iTunes dance charts and surpassed one million online plays, as well as "Felt This Good" with M. Bronx, "Gone" with EZI, and "Tequila" with Sammy Arriaga. He received the Best Mashup DJ Award at the Global Spin Awards, reflecting his influence in the electronic dance music scene. Lucas has performed at major music festivals such as KAABOO, Hangout Music Festival, Snow Globe, Made in America, Firefly Music Festival, Electric Zoo, and Electric Daisy Carnival, as well as at venues including Pacha in New York and Marquee in Las Vegas. After 15 years as a DJ, Lucas retired from performing, leaving a legacy in music production, live performance, and EDM innovation.
