Kait Bolongaro

Kait Bolongaro is an award-winning journalist based in Brussels covering European politics and policy. Bolongaro is senior editor at The Capitol Forum. Before that, she was managing editor for Europe at MLex, where she directed EU and U.K. coverage and led a team of 30 journalists across Brussels and London. She was previously Bloomberg's Canadian politics correspondent in Ottawa, covering NATO, G-7 and G-20 summits, and was a reporter at POLITICO Europe. Bolongaro has written for the BBC, The Guardian, NPR and Al Jazeera, and has interviewed prime ministers, presidents, ministers and ambassadors.

Bolongaro gave a TEDx talk, "Protect Journalists, Protect Freedom." She was a panelist on Euronews' program, "Brussels My Love," and moderates for regulators, business associations and universities. She won gold at the 2021 Best in Business Canada Awards and a silver medal from the U.N. Correspondents' Association, and was selected for Poynter's Leadership Academy for Women in Media. Bolongaro was an International Women's Media Foundation fellow in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has twice completed hostile environment training. She holds an Erasmus Mundus master's degree in journalism, media and globalization from Aarhus and Hamburg, and works in five languages.
