Justin LaBrash is a Canadian country recording artist and sixth-generation Saskatchewan farmer known for his contributions to independent Canadian country music. LaBrash is a six-time SCMA Award winner, having earned recognition as Saskatchewan's Male Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. He is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for his work in the arts. Blending classic country sensibility with rock-influenced energy, LaBrash has developed a following across Canada and internationally.
LaBrash released his debut EP, followed by a full-length album and an acoustic EP, before releasing his fourth studio album, "The Neon Palm Tree." At the SCMA Awards, he was recognized in three major categories: Songwriter of the Year (with Doug Sylvester and Dan Sulley for "Running Away"), Country Album of the Year (for "The Neon Palm Tree," co-produced with Carter Kent), and Male Artist of the Year. His singles "See You in the Stars" and "Somethin' About Nothin'" both reached No. 1 on the Canadian True North Country Radio Indie chart. "Somethin' About Nothin'" also marked his entry into US country radio and received significant airplay in both Canada and the United States.
LaBrash is recognized for his innovation as a live performer. His #driveinsask Tour and the "Hell or High Water" Tour were developed in response to pandemic restrictions, with LaBrash and his team constructing a stage trailer in collaboration with local companies and public health authorities to deliver concerts that audiences could enjoy from their vehicles. This initiative earned a CCMA nomination for the inaugural Live Innovation Award, noted as North America's first drive-in concert tour. LaBrash has performed more than 600 shows, both acoustically and with his band, True North, across Canada from Vancouver to St. John's to the Northwest Territories.
LaBrash has appeared at major festivals and events, including Craven Country Jamboree/Country Thunder Saskatchewan, Rogers Hometown Hockey, Agribition, Last Mountain Rodeo, and the Diamonds in the Rough showcase at the Canadian Country Music Awards. When not touring, LaBrash writes songs and records in his studio on a ranch in southern Saskatchewan. Outside of music, he works on his ranch and serves as a Canadian Cowboys' Association rodeo judge and KCBS BBQ judge.
LaBrash and his bandmates have raised awareness, food, and over $750,000 for Saskatchewan and Canadian charities. As an ambassador for Teddy Bears Anonymous, LaBrash ensures that each concert on his major tours highlights a local charitable organization. Through his performances and community involvement, LaBrash maintains a strong presence in the Canadian country music industry.
