Justin James

Justin James is a professional athlete recognized in the competitive golf industry, best known as the World Long Drive Champion. After completing a career in professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system, James became the head golf coach at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, before launching his long drive career and earning bronze in his first appearance at the World Long Drive Championship. In the following year, James won three events, including the Volvik World Long Drive Championship, securing his position as the world's number one with a 435-yard walk-off winner.

James, along with his father and two-time Seniors Champion Gerry James, became the only father-son duo to win world championships when James defeated Mitch Grassing of Canada in the finals with a record-setting 435-yard drive. In addition to his World Championship win, James captured the Bash for Cash in Canada and the Bluff City Shootout in Tennessee on the World Long Drive schedule. James held the world number one ranking from 2017 to 2019. His achievements in long drive have attracted attention from the broader golf community, with PGA Tour golfer Bryson DeChambeau studying the swings of James and Kyle Berkshire to improve driving distance on Tour.

James is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Power, Golf and Fitness Coach, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Weck Method Qualified Coach. He is also a TPI certified fitness professional and has been featured in Muscle & Fitness magazine. James has coached with the Titleist Performance Institute and Golf Mind and Body, and has been featured in publications such as Golf Digest and on the Golf Channel. His coaching philosophy focuses on unlocking the full athletic potential of every golfer, emphasizing that many golfers lose distance due to overly mechanical swings. In his lessons, James teaches golfers how to utilize their athletic abilities to transfer power effectively into the golf shot.
