Julieta Venegas Biography
Julieta Venegas is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. An iconic figure in contemporary Latin music, she has eight studio albums and is the winner of eight Latin GRAMMYs® and one GRAMMY® award.
Raised in Tijuana, Mexico, Venegas began studying music at the age of eight, focusing on classical piano and musical theory. In her teenage years, Venegas joined several bands, notably the Mexican ska group Tijuana No! In 1996, she embarked on her solo career, leading to the release of her debut album, Aquí, in 1997. Her subsequent albums, including Bueninvento (2000), Sí (2003), and Limón y Sal (2006), reflect a blend of pop-rock and indie influences and solidified her presence in the Latin music scene. Her latest release, Tu Historia came in November 2022.
Venegas is proficient in multiple instruments, such as the acoustic guitar, accordion, and keyboard. She has composed music for various theatrical productions, including the play "La Enamorada," in which she also acted.
