Julie Yoo

Julie Yoo is a general partner on the Bio + Health team at Andreessen Horowitz, where she leads investments in healthcare technology companies focused on modernizing patient access, payment systems, and care experiences. Yoo's portfolio includes companies such as AKASA, Ambience, Hippocratic AI, Sprinter Health, and Thatch, reflecting a broad vision for the healthcare sector.

Yoo began her technology career as a software engineer at Endeca Technologies and later served as a product manager at Knome, a company offering whole genome sequencing services for private individuals. She was vice president of product at Generation Health, contributing from the company's inception through its acquisition by CVS Health. These roles provided Yoo with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between technology, data, and healthcare.

Before joining Andreessen Horowitz, Yoo was co-founder, chief product officer, and board director at Kyruus, a health technology company specializing in patient access solutions. At Kyruus, she led the development of the ProviderMatch platform, designed to match patients with appropriate physicians and optimize hospital system capacity. The platform served more than 20 million patients and was used by over 225,000 healthcare providers nationwide. Kyruus was later acquired by RevSpring.

Yoo holds an undergraduate degree in computer science and pre-medicine from MIT, an MS in genomics from Harvard-MIT HST, and an MBA from MIT Sloan. She is a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum and has received recognition from Becker's Hospital Review, Health Data Management, MedTech Boston, and Rock Health. Yoo is a frequent speaker on healthcare technology, policy, and innovation, and has participated in industry discussions on healthcare affordability and policy reform.
