Julia Roberts is an actress renowned for her leading roles in a diverse range of genres. She debuted on the big screen in "Satisfaction" in 1988, shortly after her first television appearance in "Crime Story" a year prior. Roberts gained critical acclaim with the independent romantic comedy "Mystic Pizza" in the same year. Notably, she earned an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Steel Magnolias" in 1989. The following year, Roberts starred alongside Richard Gere in "Pretty Woman," which earned her a second Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. "Pretty Woman" remains the highest-grossing romantic comedy in the U.S.
