Joshua Jay

Joshua Jay is a performer, author, entrepreneur, and lecturer recognized for his contributions to the field of magic. His career spans performances in more than 100 countries, and he has received the top prize at the World Magic Seminar as well as a Guinness World Record for card tricks. Jay was named Magician of the Year by the Society of American Magicians Parent Assembly for his work in advancing the art of magic. He is known for both close-up sleight of hand and keynote addresses on creativity and psychology.

As a performer, Jay has appeared on stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and on television programs including "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "The Late Show Starring James Corden," and Penn & Teller's "Fool Us." He wrote and starred in "Six Impossible Things," an immersive magic show in New York City that ran for more than two years and sold out over 240 performances. Jay has also performed for public figures including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

Jay is the author of six books on magic, including the New York Times best-selling children's book "Big Magic for Little Hands" and "How Magicians Think." His published works also include "The Particle System," a memorized deck opus, and "Inferno," an original magic effect widely performed and sold. Jay consulted with the US Postal Service on the "Magic" stamp series and contributed to illusion design for "Game of Thrones."

Jay cofounded Vanishing Inc. with Andi Gladwin, growing it into a leading online magic retailer with global operations. Vanishing Inc. Magic also organizes events, conferences, and a nonprofit initiative focused on the advancement of magic. Jay's entrepreneurial efforts have influenced how magic is taught, distributed, and experienced worldwide.

In addition to his work in performance and business, Jay is a frequent speaker on topics related to magic, creativity, and perception. He has delivered keynote speeches at institutions such as Harvard University, Pixar, and Google, as well as museums across the United States.
