Josh Heupel

Josh Heupel currently serves as the head football coach at the University of Tennessee, a position he has held since January 27, 2021. Prior to this role, Heupel was the head coach at the University of Central Florida, where his coaching record was an impressive 28–8. His overall head coaching record stands at 71–26, a testament to his effective leadership. In addition to his coaching roles, Heupel is also known for his time as a quarterback at the University of Oklahoma, where he led the team to a 2000 BCS National Championship.

Heupel's coaching career has been marked by significant accomplishments. In 2018, he led the UCF Knights to a 12-1 record and an American Athletic Conference championship. He repeated this success at Tennessee, leading the team to a 10-2 regular season record and a College Football Playoff appearance in 2024. Under his leadership, Tennessee also achieved their first #1 ranking since 1998 in the 2022 College Football Playoffs rankings. Heupel's effective leadership was recognized when he was named SEC Coach of the Year in 2022.

In addition to his coaching achievements, Heupel's performance as a player was also noteworthy. He won the Walter Camp Award, was named AP College Football Player of the Year, and was a consensus All-American in 2000. He also played for the Miami Dolphins and the Barcelona Dragons in NFL Europe.
