José Mourinho

José Mourinho is a football manager known for his achievements in European football. Mourinho has won league championships in four countries and is one of only six managers to have won the European Cup with two clubs. He is the only manager to have secured all three current UEFA club competitions.

Mourinho began his career in football as the son of a Portuguese goalkeeper, initially pursuing sports science at university and teaching in schools while coaching youth teams. He became Sir Bobby Robson's interpreter at Sporting Lisbon, later following Robson to Barcelona, where his coaching responsibilities expanded under Robson and his successor, Louis van Gaal. After brief managerial roles at Benfica and União de Leiria, Mourinho joined FC Porto, where he led the club to a treble, winning the Primeira Liga, Taça de Portugal, and the UEFA Cup, followed by a UEFA Champions League title.

During his first tenure, Mourinho led Chelsea to consecutive Premier League titles, breaking the dominance of Arsenal and Manchester United. He then managed Internazionale, guiding the club to a treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the UEFA Champions League. Mourinho later managed Real Madrid, winning La Liga with a record points tally and becoming the fifth coach to win league titles in four countries. He returned to Chelsea for another Premier League title and later managed Manchester United, winning both the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Mourinho was named the best Portuguese coach of the century by the Portuguese Football Federation. At AS Roma, he became the only manager to win the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. He has also managed Fenerbahçe and returned to Portuguese football as coach of Benfica.
