Jorge R. Gutiérrez is a Mexican animator, director, painter, writer, voice actor, and production designer. Gutiérrez co-created, with Sandra Equihua, the Annie and Emmy Award-winning Nicktoon "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera." He co-wrote and directed "The Book of Life," which received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Animated Feature Film, and wrote and directed the Annie and Emmy-nominated VR short "Son of Jaguar" for Google. Gutiérrez also wrote and directed the Annie Award-winning limited series "Maya and the Three" for Netflix Animation. He is known for his storytelling and visual style in animation and remains active in the animation industry, participating in major festivals and industry events to discuss his creative process and developments in animation.
