Jordan Stolz

Jordan Stolz, a long track speed skater, emerged on the international scene at the young age of 17 during the 2021–22 ISU Speed Skating World Cup. In 2023, he became the youngest single distance world champion in history at the World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships by winning the 500 meters. Additionally, he made his mark as the first male skater to win three individual gold medals at a single World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships, a feat he repeated in 2024. His debut in the 2024 World Allround Speed Skating Championships was equally impressive, where Stolz set a world record for the big combination and secured the gold medal, becoming the youngest male World Allround champion in 46 years.

Stolz's skill in speed skating was further highlighted at the 2023 World Junior Speed Skating Championships where he won gold medals in the 500 meters, 1,000 meters, and 1,500 meters, becoming the first person to win titles in three separate distances at the Senior and Junior World Championships in the same year. His prowess in the sport continued to shine during the 2024–25 ISU Speed Skating World Cup season, where he achieved a record-breaking win streak. Despite being diagnosed with pneumonia and strep throat in early February 2025, which impacted his performance, Stolz made a commendable recovery, winning 16 races and 20 medals over five World Cup stops during the 2025–26 ISU Speed Skating World Cup.

Stolz currently holds four junior world records (500 meters, 1,000 meters, 1,500 meters, mini combination) and two senior world records (1,000 meters, big combination). His 2026 Winter Olympics participation will include the 500 meter, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter, and mass start events. Stolz has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as the next significant figure in U.S. speedskating, and he is currently ranked first in the adelskalender with 143.897 points. In 2023 and 2024, he was the proud recipient of the prestigious Oscar Mathisen Award.
