Joost van Dreunen Biography
Joost van Dreunen is an academic and entrepreneur with an expertise in video games. He teaches at the NYU Stern School of Business and is author of "One Up: Creativity, Competition, and the Global Business of Video Games." He is CEO at ALDORA, a brand intelligence provider. Van Dreunen is also an investor at New Breukelen, and an advisor at Makers Fund.
Previously he was co-founder and CEO of SuperData Research, a games market research firm, which Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) acquired in 2018.
He is an investor and advises funds and firms active in interactive entertainment. Considered “the top academic” in interactive entertainment, van Dreunen is also an accomplished serial entrepreneur focused on data companies and an investor. Previously van Dreunen was CEO of SuperData Research which Nielsen acquired, and an advisor to Parsec (acquired by Unity).
Van Dreunen publishes a newsletter on gaming, tech, and entertainment called SuperJoost Playlist.
