Jono Lancaster

Jono Lancaster is a British author, presenter, public speaker, and disability campaigner known for his advocacy in the areas of self-acceptance, inclusion, and facial difference awareness. Born with Treacher Collins syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting facial development, Lancaster was left at the hospital by his birth parents and was fostered two weeks later by the woman who became his adoptive mother. During his high school years, Lancaster faced bullying and social isolation due to his facial differences, experiences that later informed his work in disability advocacy.

Lancaster has established a platform to promote acceptance and understanding of facial differences. He has appeared on television programs such as "Love Me, Love My Face" on BBC Three and "Embracing Differences" on ITV's This Morning, contributing to public discourse on disability and inclusion. He also leads "Love My Face" for Channel 4, a four-part series following individuals with visible facial differences as they seek support, advice, and explore treatments to help accept or address their differences.

Lancaster is co-founder of the Love Me Love My Face Foundation, which raises awareness of Treacher Collins syndrome and craniofacial conditions, supports families, and educates the public. As a disability campaigner, he speaks to audiences internationally and engages with young people through school talks, encouraging self-acceptance, tolerance, and kindness. Lancaster has traveled to countries including Australia and Tanzania, meeting children with similar conditions and addressing issues such as bullying and social stigma.

In his memoir, "Not All Heroes Wear Capes," Lancaster shares his personal journey, discussing the challenges and strengths that have shaped his life. Through his writing, public speaking, and television work, Lancaster contributes to ongoing conversations about disability, identity, and the importance of embracing one's authentic self.
