Jonathan V. Last, often referred to as JVL, is a conservative, anti-Trump journalist and author. He is editor of the conservative, opinion, anti-Trump website, "The Bulwark."
Last began his journalism career at "The Weekly Standard," a Washington-based political magazine, where he served as a senior writer and digital editor. His writings have appeared in publications such as "The Wall Street Journal," "The Los Angeles Times," "The Washington Post," "The Philadelphia Inquirer," and "The New York Post." He has also contributed to "Salon," "Slate," "First Things," and the "Claremont Review of Books." In 2013, Last authored "What to Expect When No One's Expecting: America's Coming Demographic Disaster," a book examining declining birth rates and their societal implications. He also edited "The Seven Deadly Virtues" (2014) and "The Dadly Virtues" (2015), collections of essays by conservative writers.
Currently, Last is the editor of "The Bulwark," a news and opinion, anti-Trump website. He co-hosts "The Bulwark Podcast," where he discusses political and cultural topics. Additionally, he maintains an active presence on social media, engaging in discussions ranging from politics to popular culture.
