Jonathan Traylor

Jonathan Traylor is a Dallas-based gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and dancer whose music fuses contemporary gospel, Christian pop, R&B, and contemporary Christian music. Influenced by artists such as Kirk Franklin and Tye Tribbett, Traylor was drawn to their use of contemporary sounds and energetic stage performances to communicate the message of the gospel to broad audiences. A primarily self-taught musician, he plays piano, acoustic guitar, and several percussion instruments, developing these skills initially in service to his local church. By age 15, Traylor had embraced songwriting as a core means of expression, channeling his thoughts and emotions into music that would eventually reach listeners beyond his hometown.

Traylor's path to the spotlight was shaped by adversity. After experiencing family hardship, including homelessness, he maintained his faith and channeled it into music. He taught himself to play a used Casio keyboard purchased from a pawnshop and began leading youth and music ministry in his local church. He made his recorded debut as frontman for the Christian rock and worship band One1Way before going solo and self-financing his debut album, "Stones & Giants." The 12-track project was written almost entirely by Traylor and co-produced with his U.K.-based collaborator Mr. Damention, featuring tracks including "Won't Let Me Down," "Masterpiece," and "Breathe Life." The record gained traction in the gospel music scene and led Traylor to tour churches across the region, attracting listeners globally despite limited promotion.

The success of "Stones & Giants" drew attention from major label executives, leading to a recording contract with Motown Gospel and a publishing deal with Capitol CMG. The label re-released the album, which surpassed a million streams within its first month, establishing Traylor in the Christian music industry. He gained national prominence following appearances such as the pre-show stage at Kirk Franklin's Exodus Music & Arts Festival in Dallas. His major label debut, "The Unknown," followed as a playlist-styled album chronicling his journey of faith and acceptance in Christ, featuring tracks such as "You Get the Glory," "I Trust You," and "Purpose Over Pleasure."

Traylor has become a collaborator and touring artist across the Christian music world. He has appeared alongside artists such as Jordan Feliz on the "Jesus Is Coming Back" remix, performed at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, and joined We Are Messengers on their Where The Joy Is Tour as a featured special guest. He has also participated in Worship Together Nights with artists including Cody Carnes and Bryan & Katie Torwalt. Traylor's music blends gospel, rock, pop, and worship, resonating with both churched and unchurched audiences. His approach to music continues to shape his impact on the modern faith-based music landscape.
