Jon Heymann

Jon Heymann is a leader in nonprofit management, education, and trauma recovery. As a child, Heymann was a victim of a trafficking ring in Athens, Greece, before being adopted by an American family through an adoption agency operating in Greece. These early experiences shaped his commitment to service and advocacy for vulnerable populations.

Heymann has served as a pastor, counselor, college instructor, CEO of a multi-million dollar nonprofit, and published author. As CEO of the Jacksonville Children's Commission, he oversaw $38 million in funding to support child-focused nonprofits. Heymann also founded Elevate Jacksonville, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building long-term relationships with urban youth and equipping them to thrive in their communities. His career reflects a broad range of experience in nonprofit leadership, education, and youth development.

Heymann holds a master's degree in education from the University of Florida and has completed graduate work in psychology and doctoral studies at the University of North Florida. His work in dropout prevention was recognized with the Crystal Award from Clemson University, and Stanford University identified him as a transformational leader. These recognitions highlight his impact on community engagement and organizational leadership.

Heymann is the author of "Agonizing Peace: Powering Through Traumatic Experiences," which addresses strategies for pursuing peace and resilience after trauma. He has delivered keynote speeches to more than 300,000 people at national conventions, men's retreats, businesses, schools, churches, colleges, and civic groups. Heymann's presentations focus on leadership, overcoming adversity, personal growth, and peak performance, drawing on his personal journey and professional expertise in trauma recovery and nonprofit management.
