John Wayne Walding is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces veteran, accomplished sniper, and decorated war hero. He served for 12 years in the military, including seven years with the elite 3rd Special Forces Group. During his service, he earned numerous commendations, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart.
In 2008, while serving in Afghanistan’s Shok Valley, John sustained a life-altering injury when he was shot in the leg. Despite his wound, he continued fighting for several hours, displaying extraordinary bravery and resilience. Following the amputation of his leg below the knee, John made history as the first amputee to graduate from the Special Forces Sniper Course.
After retiring from active duty, John continued to push boundaries, competing in marathons and endurance events using a prosthetic limb. He has since become a powerful motivational speaker, inspiring audiences with his story of perseverance, leadership, and overcoming adversity. Whether addressing military organizations, corporate teams, or community groups, John’s message is one of courage, purpose, and the unbreakable will to overcome life’s toughest challenges.
