John Morgan

John Morgan is a Grammy-nominated American country music singer-songwriter known for his work in Nashville's country music scene. Morgan began his career touring the summer festival circuit for a decade with his family bluegrass band before transitioning to songwriting and relocating to Nashville. Influenced by artists such as Tony Rice and John Mayer, Morgan started writing songs at a young age and supported himself with a day job while making trips to Nashville to pursue songwriting opportunities.

After moving to Nashville full-time, Morgan connected with songwriters Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy, which led to a collaboration with Jason Aldean. Aldean recorded one of Morgan's co-writes as a duet with Carrie Underwood, "If I Didn't Love You," which reached No. 1 on country radio and earned Grammy and ACM Single of the Year nominations. Morgan has written songs recorded by major country artists including Jon Pardi, Dustin Lynch, Thomas Rhett, and Jason Aldean, who has recorded 16 of Morgan's songs, including the No. 1 hits "Trouble With a Heartbreak," "If I Didn't Love You," and "Whiskey Drink."

Morgan signed with Night Train Records at BBR Music Group and joined Aldean on tour as an opening act. He represented North Carolina on the music competition TV show "American Song Contest," performing the song "Right in the Middle." Morgan's debut single as an artist, "Friends Like That (feat. Jason Aldean)," reached No. 1 at country radio, marking his fourth No. 1 as a songwriter and first as a recording artist.

His debut album, "Carolina Blue," features a blend of storytelling and small-town themes, including the single "Kid Myself." Morgan has been featured in publications such as the Tennessean, Billboard, Holler, American Songwriter, Music Row, and Taste of Country, and has performed on the Grand Ole Opry. Taste of Country included him in its RISERS: Artists to Watch list, highlighting emerging talent in country music. Morgan has performed with artists including Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Riley Green, ERNEST, and Nate Smith, and has headlined his own "Friends Like That" tour.
