John Kamara

John Kamara is an AI and data transformation leader, entrepreneur, and ecosystem builder with more than two decades of experience advancing technology adoption across Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. Kamara began his entrepreneurial career by founding and selling "Spade Social," a technology startup focused on lifestyle and entertainment, which established the foundation for his ongoing work in emerging technologies and digital transformation. He serves as Chief AI Futurist for Equity Technology Group and chairs the AI Centre of Excellence in Nairobi, Kenya, reflecting his expertise in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

Kamara founded AICE Africa (Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence Africa), where he develops AI-driven solutions to accelerate digital transformation throughout the continent. He is also the founder of Adanian Labs, a Pan-African venture studio that has supported more than 60 startups across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia. Under Kamara's leadership, Adanian Labs has become a center for innovation in sectors such as fintech, agritech, healthcare, and education. He also established "AfyaRekod," an AI-powered health data platform focused on patient-driven healthcare access, and led the development of "DataInViz," a sovereign AI-powered data intelligence platform designed to help governments, enterprises, and small and medium-sized enterprises generate real-time insights from complex data sources.

Kamara's influence extends to his role as Board Director at the Machine Intelligence Institute of Africa and his work at the CREATES Centre for the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology in Arusha.
