John Caslione

AWI assists companies to develop and implement global marketing and business alliance strategies. He is also founder, President and CEO of GCS Business Capital, Inc. (GCS), a Chicago (USA) and Frankfurt-based (Germany) firm that assists companies of all sizes and in a variety of industries, including small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), to globalize their business, with a special focus on the US, Europe and China.

 GCS further represents Chinese businesses and Chinese investors to establish new business, make investments in or acquire businesses in the US and in Europe.

 With his firm AWI, Mr. Caslione personally has implemented business strategies in 90 countries on six continents including the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and CIS, Central Asia, the Middle East, China, India, Australia, SE Asia, Africa and South America; and for many companies, large medium and small, including ABB Semiconductors, Becton-Dickenson Biosciences, ChevronTexaco Lubricants, ExxonMobil Chemical Films, Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, IBM, Philips Automotive Lighting, RJR International, etc.

 Mr. Caslione’s latest book, Global Manifest Destiny: Growing Your Business In A Borderless Economy (Dearborn Publishing), provides critical insights and a competencies roadmap for companies to become true “global organizations” to successfully compete in the new global business environment. Global Manifest Destiny is a featured book recommendation and chosen as one of the top business book selections for four consecutive years (2002- 2005) by Harvard Business School’s “HBS Working Knowledge."

His first book, Growing Your Business in Emerging Markets: Promise and Perils (Quorum Publishing), is considered the leading authoritative book on developing new market entry strategies as well as sales and distribution channel strategies in emerging and developing markets worldwide.

As an expert on business globalization and a leading China expert, Mr. Caslione regularly appears as a guest speaker for CNBC Europe on its Squawk Box and Morning Exchange programs where he speaks on critical issues in developing global business and China. He has authored a number of articles on globalization, developing business globally especially for small and medium size businesses (SMEs). His published articles can be read in Expression Magazine, the in-flight passenger magazine for five of the largest seven airlines in China with a monthly readership of more than 20 million passengers each month.

Mr. Caslione is a highly sought after as an expert on the new global economy and global business development and speaks in many globally influential business forums.

He frequently speaks on the new global economy and global business development in many forums including the Institute for Management Development’s (IMD) Program for Executive Development (Lausanne, Switzerland); at IAE (Aix-en-Provence, France); at the Dubai Strategy Conference and many others worldwide.

He is also a frequent guest lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he speaks to business executive in Kellogg’s Global Initiatives in Management Program (GIM) on global marketing and business development, including in China and Asia.

Mr. Caslione is a member of the adjunct faculty of Southern Methodist University’s (SMU) Edwin L. Cox School of Business’s Executive Education Department where he teaches marketing strategy.

In July 2004, Caslione was the featured subject of, Cai Zhi Ren Wu, the leading nationally-broadcast and highly-acclaimed business news program in China featuring global opinion leaders in business and politics, including Bill Gates (Microsoft), Alan Greenspan (US Federal Reserve), Lee Scott (Wal-Mart), etc.
