Joe Buck

Joe Buck is an award winning sportscaster, and lead play-by-play broadcaster for ESPN's Monday Night Football beginning with the 2022 NFL season. He formerly worked for Fox Sports from its inception in 1994, including roles as lead play-by-play announcer for the network's National Football League and Major League Baseball coverage. Buck has earned the distinction as one of sports' premier play-by-play broadcasters, as evidenced by his seven Emmy Awards, and his three National Sportscaster of the Year award.

Buck began his network play-by-play career in the NFL on FOX broadcast booth, where he worked from 1994-1997. He and NFL on FOX analyst Tim Green formed one of the network's original six NFL broadcast teams in 1994, when at age of 25, Buck was the youngest announcer to call a regular slate of NFL games on television.

Currently, Buck also serves as the lead announcer for FOX Sports’ United States Golf Association (USGA) coverage, including for the prestigious U.S. Open Championship.

Previously, Buck served as host of FOX NFL SUNDAY, America’s most-watched NFL pregame show, and THE OT, the nation’s most-watched NFL postgame show.

Buck has been a radio and television announcer for the St. Louis Cardinals since 1991. His broadcasting career began in 1989, while he was an undergraduate at Indiana University. That year he did baseball play-by-play for the Louisville Redbirds of the American Association, a minor league affiliate of the Cardinals, and was a reporter for ESPN’s coverage of the Triple-A All-Star Game.

Active in many national and local charities, he hosts The Joe Buck Classic golf tournament, which benefits St. Louis Children’s Hospital and helps fund its imaging center. Since it began in 2000, the annual event has raised more than $5 million. Buck also works closely with the Parkinson’s Foundation, Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club and City of Hope.

In 2016, Buck published an autobiography, Lucky Bastard.
