Joanne Rubino

Joanne Rubino is a creative executive and Emmy-nominated producer with a career spanning more than two decades in television production. Rubino has contributed to biopics, scripted series, and documentaries across major networks and platforms. She began her career as an actor before transitioning to roles behind the camera, collaborating with a range of actors, directors, producers, and production teams.

Rubino's producing credits include high-profile cable television events such as History's "Hatfields & McCoys" miniseries, which received 16 Emmy nominations and five wins. She served as the only female producer on the ten-hour television event "Texas Rising" for History and executive produced its companion documentary, "Avenging The Alamo: The Road to Texas Rising." Additional credits include "Sun Records" for CMT, which drew significant viewership, and "Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le" for Lifetime, which achieved strong ratings for the network.

Rubino was among the producers nominated for an Emmy for "Brando," a documentary for Turner Classic Movies. Her portfolio also features unscripted series such as "Mama June: From Not to Hot" and "Million Dollar Matchmaker" for WE tv, "Married by Mom & Dad" for TLC, "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" for WE tv, TV One's "R&B Divas," and nearly seven seasons of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" for A&E. Rubino's experience encompasses both scripted drama and unscripted content, reflecting her versatility in television production.

As founder of Be Brave Media, Rubino has developed a slate of series and feature projects in collaboration with directors, producers, writers, talent, production companies, studios, streamers, and networks. Under the Be Brave Media banner, Rubino has expanded her industry relationships and project portfolio, which includes the feature film "Slinky" in pre-production and more than 60 projects in development across various genres and platforms. Rubino has guided studio and network partners, production teams, and stakeholders through industry changes, including mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, project turnarounds, and leadership transitions.
