Jimmy McNichol

Jimmy McNichol is an actor, musician and environmentalist. Internationally known, McNichol was one of the highest paid TV & film stars, a teen heartthrob, and one of the most popular actors in the entertainment industry from the late 1970's through the early 90's. As a musician, he has had hit records.

McNichol's career in show business started when he appeared in a commercial for Band-Aids at the age of seven years old. He appeared on various television shows including "Gunsmoke, "Little House on the Prairie," "Shazam!" and "S.W.A.T." throughout the 1970's. In 1976, McNichol landed the role of "Tim Blake" in the television movie, "Stranded."

McNichol released an album, "Kristy & Jimmy McNichol" with his sister in 1978. Tracks included "Girl You Really Got Me Going," "Rock 'N' Roll Is Here to Stay," "He's So Fine" and "Boogie Oogie Oogie." The following year, he starred in "Champions: A Love Story," a television movie and appeared in the television series "California Fever."

Throughout the 1980's, McNichol continued to act in television shows like "The Love Boat" and "General Hospital" and television movies such as "Blinded by the Light" with sister Kristy and "Safe Harbor." He also appeared in movies such as "Smokey Bites the Dust," "Escape from El Diablo" and "Night Warning."

In 1991, he played "Valentine McCallum" in the television movie "Reason for Living: The Jill Ireland Story" with Jill Clayburgh and Lance Henriksen. McNichol last appeared in television in "V.R. Troopers" in 1995.

In the late '90s, McNichol was a member of the band Wizard King. They released an album entitled "Echo Warrior."

Jimmy continues to have an international fan base, with many young people discovering his old work and becoming new fans.

Jimmy McNichol has a new album coming out next year, and he just completed a TV special with his two-time Emmy Award winning sister, Kristy McNichol. He has a film coming out this year, a book entitled Triple Threat out next year, and he is in pre-production on his new talk show.

McNichol was recently named celebrity spokesperson for an animal humane organization.
