Jessica Mendoza

Jessica Mendoza is recognized for her achievements in softball and her contributions to sports broadcasting. As a softball outfielder, Mendoza was a collegiate four-time First Team All-American and two-time Olympic medalist. She led Stanford Cardinals to their first Women's College World Series appearance and holds the program's season records in hits, stolen bases, runs, batting average, and is the all-time career leader in home runs.

On the international stage, Mendoza earned a gold medal at the Athens Olympics and a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics. She is a three-time World Champion and World Cup Champion, as well as a two-time Pan American gold medalist. Mendoza was named USA Softball Athlete of the Year and recognized as the Women's Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year. She was inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame and served as president of the Women's Sports Foundation.

Mendoza transitioned to sports broadcasting, joining ESPN and becoming the first woman to serve as an analyst for nationally televised MLB games. She was the first female analyst for a nationally televised MLB Postseason game, the AL Wild Card Game on ESPN, and is the second-longest tenured Sunday Night Baseball analyst in the history of ESPN's MLB telecast.

During the MLB season, Mendoza became the first woman to serve as a solo analyst for a national package of MLB game telecasts, including weeknight games and holiday baseball. She also became the first woman to serve as a World Series game analyst on national radio, joining MLB on ESPN Radio for the World Series. Mendoza appears regularly on ESPN studio shows including "Baseball Tonight," "SportsCenter," "Get Up," and "First Take."

Beyond broadcasting, Mendoza advocates for gender equity and peak performance. She is a trustee and past president of the Women's Sports Foundation, an athletic ambassador for Team Darfur, and a National Education Association board member. Mendoza speaks to teams, organizations, and conferences about confidence, resilience, and the mental aspects of peak performance, drawing on her experience in elite athletics and sports media.
