Jeremy Swift

Jeremy Swift is an English actor whose career spans more than four decades across stage, television, and film. Swift studied drama at Guildford School of Acting and began his professional career touring a revue show to prisons and borstals. He worked extensively in theater during the 1980s, collaborating with companies such as Deborah Warner's Kick Theatre company and The People Show. His stage credits include performances at the National Theatre and the West End, including a production of "Abigail's Party." In the 1990s, Swift appeared at the National Theatre alongside David Tennant and Richard Wilson in Phyllida Lloyd's production of "What the Butler Saw."

Swift transitioned to screen with roles in films such as Robert Altman's murder mystery "Gosford Park," Michael Apted's historical drama "Amazing Grace," and the family adventure film "Mary Poppins Returns." He has worked with directors including Roman Polanski on "Oliver Twist" and the Wachowski siblings on "Jupiter Ascending." On television, Swift earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for his role as Spratt in "Downton Abbey" and has appeared in British television series such as "Vanity Fair," "The Smoking Room," "The Crimson Field," and "Foyle's War."

Swift is a regular on the Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso," portraying Leslie Higgins, the Head of Football Director for AFC Richmond. His performance in the series earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Swift's work in "Ted Lasso" has contributed to his international recognition in television comedy and sports drama.

Swift joined the cast of PBS Masterpiece's "All Creatures Great and Small" as Mr. Bosworth, a longtime resident of the Yorkshire Dales. He has also appeared in MASTERPIECE productions including "Downton Abbey" and "The Durrells in Corfu." With more than 80 acting credits, Swift is known for his work in period drama, comedy, and ensemble television series, maintaining a consistent presence in British entertainment.
