Jeremy Sochan

Jeremy Sochan is a Polish-American professional basketball player known for his versatility and international basketball background. He played college basketball for the Baylor Bears and was selected ninth overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Draft. At Baylor, Sochan earned the Big 12 Sixth Man Award and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, averaging 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game as a freshman. Before his college career, Sochan joined Germany's Orange Academy in the ProB league, attracting the attention of college basketball coaches in the United States.

Sochan's professional career with the Spurs has been marked by steady development and a willingness to embrace unconventional challenges. He finished his sophomore NBA season averaging 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. He recorded a career high of 33 points in a game against the Atlanta Hawks and became the third Spurs player to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 250 assists in their first 100 games. Sochan gained attention for his unorthodox free throw technique, shooting with one hand, a method he adopted after a suggestion from Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. On the international stage, Sochan has represented Poland, leading the under-16 national basketball team to a title at the FIBA U16 European Championship Division B in Montenegro, where he was named tournament MVP.
