Jeremy Roenick

Jeremy Roenick is a prominent figure in American hockey, known for his impact as both a player and a broadcaster. Drafted eighth overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, Roenick quickly established himself as a leading presence on the ice. A nine-time NHL All-Star and two-time U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team member, Roenick was recognized as one of the top American-born hockey players in both professional and international competition. He became the third American-born player to score 500 goals in the NHL.

During his NHL career, Roenick recorded 1,216 points, including 513 goals and 703 assists in 1,363 regular season games, and added 53 goals and 69 assists for 122 points in 154 post-season games. He played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks over a twenty-season career. Roenick helped Chicago reach the Stanley Cup Final, recording 18 points in 20 playoff games, and led the Blackhawks with 107 points in consecutive seasons. He was named to the U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team that competed at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, and earned a silver medal with the team at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Roenick was also named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players."

Roenick's personality and experience led to a successful career in hockey broadcasting. He has been featured as a hockey analyst on TSN, a cable sports broadcast network in Canada, and joined NBC Sports Group as a studio analyst for NHL coverage on "NHL Live" and "NHL Overtime," NBCSN's pre- and post-game shows. Roenick also served as an Olympic hockey analyst at multiple Winter Olympics. He is the subject of two books: "Jeremy Roenick: Shoot First, Pass Later" and "J.R.: My Life as the Most Outspoken, Fearless and Hard-Hitting Man in Hockey."

Roenick has made appearances in popular culture, including a reference in the film "Swingers" and acting roles on television shows such as "Go On" on NBC, as well as episodes of "Leverage," "Ghost Whisperer," "Hack," and HBO's "Arli$$." His direct communication style and engagement with fans and media have contributed to his visibility in the sport.

Roenick was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, joining a class that included Shea Weber, Pavel Datsyuk, Natalie Darwitz, and Krissy Wendell. He was previously inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
