Jeremy McLellan

Jeremy McLellan is an American stand-up comedian known for performing at Muslim festivals and interfaith events worldwide. After beginning his comedy career in clubs and bars in his hometown, McLellan gained widespread attention through social media, prompting him to pursue stand-up comedy full time. Raised in a conservative Presbyterian household, he became convinced of Catholicism while in college and later worked with adults with learning disabilities at a L'Arche Catholic community in Chicago. His growing Muslim fan base led him to further explore questions of faith and identity.

Charleston City Paper named McLellan Best Local Comedian for two consecutive years, and he won the Charleston Stand-up Comedy Competition. These accolades helped him advance to larger comedy festivals and events across the United States. He performed at Montreal's Just for Laughs International Comedy Festival, where he was recognized as one of the New Faces of Comedy. McLellan's online presence has resonated with Arab, Pakistani, and Muslim communities, resulting in a significant social media following.

McLellan's comedy addresses topics such as religion, Islamophobia, politics, race, immigration, and disabilities. A convert to Roman Catholicism, he has performed for organizations including the Muslim Students' Association, Islamic Circle of North America, Council on American–Islamic Relations, Diyanet Center of America, and Muslim American Society, as well as numerous Pakistani organizations. His work often explores themes of faith, identity, and social justice at interfaith gatherings.

During his first international tour of Pakistan, McLellan performed six sold-out shows in Islamabad and Lahore. He also participated in humanitarian efforts, providing free dental care in villages during the day and performing at universities and venues at night. McLellan has been featured on Vice and has completed sold-out tours in the United States, United Kingdom, and Pakistan. His comedy bridges cultural and religious divides, addressing issues such as Islamophobia, civil rights, and social justice through humor.
