Jenny Hagel Biography
Jenny Hagel is an Emmy-nominated TV writer and comedy performer in New York City. She is a writer and performer on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on NBC and Head Writer and Executive Producer of "The Amber Ruffin Show" on Peacock. Other writing credits include the Golden Globe Awards, "Impractical Jokers," and "Big Gay Sketch Show." Hagel has been nominated for two GLAAD Awards for her work addressing LGBTQ issues on late-night shows.
In 2022, Hagel and Ruffin co-founded the production company Straight to Cards under an overall deal with Universal Television. The company focuses on developing inclusive, comedy-forward content for television.
A graduate of the College of William & Mary, Hagel earned her MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University. She honed her comedic skills over five years performing improv and sketch comedy at The Second City in Chicago before relocating to New York City.
