Jennifer G. Adams

Dr. Jennifer G. Adams is a physician, educator, and leader in medical empathy, serving as the inaugural Frankfort Family Director of the Center for Empathy in Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Adams directs the primary care residency track and is a preceptor and attending physician at Gouverneur Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Adams has contributed to the design and implementation of a formal curriculum on empathy for medical students, residents, and practicing clinicians, collaborating with educational leaders to advance patient-centered care and improve health outcomes through teaching and research.

Adams's career includes achievements in medical education, such as the creation of the Patient Based Longitudinal Ambulatory Clinical Experience (P.L.A.C.E.), leadership in the NYU Macy 3T web-based interactive curriculum, and development of interdisciplinary programs integrating medical, dental, and nursing education.
